[IMAGE] [IMAGE] Vegas with Randolph's music has been called "ebullient, unabashed power pop", "thinking man's party music," and "blissful pop songwriting at its finest" and their music has been compared to Fastball, Sloan, and Fountains of Wayne. Now, with the release of their newest CD "Above The Blue", VWR has returned with what Mike Lidskin calls "Sheer Powerpop Perfection"!

VWR was originally formed around the the songwriting partnership of John Ratts and Eric Kern. Starting in high school in their mid-western hometown, the duo has penned hundreds of songs, many of which have received radio airplay, use in TV and video, compilation CD's, covers by several artists, and awards (2010 "Song of the Year" Twirlie award, a 2010 "Modern Rock Recording of the Year" Wammie award, listings among the Top 100 CD's of 2009 and 2011 by Absolute Powerpop.com, David Bash and others, and 12 Wammie Award nominations between 2009 and 2012 by the Washington Area Music Association).

In addition to Kern and Ratts, the band includes a number of accomplished and highly creative musicians who have been musical partners and creative contributers in various bands and recording projects previously: Dan Aylestock on bass, and David Purol and Brock Harris on guitar.

VWR's self-titled debut CD was released in 2008 and followed quickly by the Wammie award winning 2009 EP "Side Trip". In August 2011 their second full length CD, the critically acclaimed "Above The Blue" was released, and was immediately followed by a series of interviews and east coast performances (which included a BMI Songwriter's Showcase at Washington DC's Hard Rock Cafe and the International Pop Overthrow Festival in New York City).

In 2012, VWR has released two new music videos and several singles which have been featured on new compilation CD's such as "PGR Presents The Rock On The Road Tour, Volume III" and "International Pop Overthrow (IPO) Volume 15".

Currently, the band is hard at work on writing and recording their third full length CD, and is aiming for a 2013 release.
